Wrong Message?

The post-report price action this morning has corn lower and soybeans higher. For producers who alredy recognize the high corn input costs and seem extremely uncomfortable with the entire economic uncertainty, this may be the wrong message to send to producers. This is just the type of signal that will lead to substantially less corn acres than today's USDA report suggested. Something has to change...corn is too cheap to attract the needed 2009 acreage under the current backdrop of overall economic uncertainties.
