Your Fields Don’t Have to Look Like This!
The circumstances around the escaped weeds in these photos points to glyphosate resistance. Once resistance becomes a problem, it is often a costly and time consuming recover process. Fortunately, as resources about glyphosate resistance management become more readily available, there are many ways for growers to learn techniques, find information and ask questions that will help their fields avoid looking like this. Many of the most educational resources are just a click away, and as people are exposed to the information, resistance management becomes more of a priority. Syngenta recently spoke with many growers in areas with high selection pressure for resistance who said they practice some form of resistance management. Using glyphosate sparingly, adding tank-mix partners, applying residuals and rotating crops and chemistries are common ways growers can proactively managing resistance.
