Syngenta Offering New Option for GT Corn Growers in 2008

As glyphosate-tolerant corn systems rise in popularity, Syngenta has developed a new product designed specifically for glyphosate-tolerant corn.  Halex™ GT works in glyphosate systems but adds residual control, providing additional protection against potential glyphosate resistance.  Using residuals in glyphosate-tolerant systems has become a major element to a solid resistance management plan, and with Halex GT, growers will have the opportunity knock out weeds and protect against resistance at the same time.

Available for the 2008 growing season, Halex GT combines three modes of action.  If growers are experiencing difficulty controlling weeds with glyphosate, there are two other modes of action that can kill the weeds, breaking the cycle before they have a chance to become a problem.

As glyphosate resistance becomes more of a problem across the U.S., it is important to use products that not only help achieve higher yields, but that have an agronomic focus, as well.  Thinking about the future is a good way to prepare for problems before they have a chance to arise.  For more information on Halex GT and how it helps manage weed resistance, visit the Syngenta Crop Protection Web site.
